Is there a ghost in your house?

How do you know if there is paranormal activity in your home? There are simple signs that one can sense or feel that can lead to the presence of spirit activity. Movement of objects, strong smells of flowers, perfume or tobacco, and cold spots can be signs of paranormal visitors. They also can be debunked with rational thinking, common sense and exploration.

Paranormal activity feeds off of electric energy. The home owner may experience lights going off and on, radios changing channels, TV's turning on by themselves, or clocks stopping. Many paranormal investigators use and EMF (electro magnetic field) detector to find these electrical hot spots. If the area has a strong hot spot due to wiring or other electrical intensity, it may cause nausea, paranoia and delusions. This is not a paranormal fluctuation but an electronic field. Although spirits tend to feed off of the electronic waves; debunk by looking for fuse boxes, excessive outlets and open wires.

Cold spots occur when the spirit is trying to manifest itself. Or it could be a draft. When sensing a cold spot, look for gaps around doors, vents, windows or anything else that can physically cause a temperature change. Cold spots that occur instantaneously could be a sign of a presence from the other side; especially if it is sudden then dissipates.

Testing for spirits is simple and fun. Set a tape recorder in a room and leave on over night. Listen intently the next day for sounds that are unusual for the area. Whispering sounds could be wind. Buildings settle and can mimic the sounds of footsteps. Anything unusual and unexplained after trying to debunk are worth investigating again. Repetition of sounds can be paranormal in a residual sense. Words are difficult to distinguish and hard to capture. If you get a voice, make sure there has been no human tampering including snoring, talking in your sleep etc. If there is no outer interference, again this is activity is worth rechecking.

Patience, common sense and repetition are the best tools for investigating the potential of spirit activity in the home. Remember, ninety percent of "thought to be" paranormal activity can be explained. But, isn't it fun?
